The Effects of Meditation on PTSD
Dr Joe Dispenza | 07 April 2026
Through our research on meditation and PTSD in veterans, we’ve witnessed profound transformations in individuals who once struggled to function in their daily lives. Many had already explored a range of therapies, yet still felt stuck. For some, arriving at a Week Long Retreat is their first introduction to this work – and often, their turning point.
In this conversation with Dr Hemal Patel, Dr Joe explains that this work is really about how well you function in your life. When you begin to regulate your emotions and open your heart, you can start to reset the baseline for trauma in the brain. And when you can look at your past without that emotional charge, that’s when you know you’re free.
We’ve seen veterans reclaim their lives, their relationships, and their sense of self. And as the data continues to emerge, this work is opening the door to broader conversations – from supporting those with deep trauma … to shaping how future physicians understand the connection between mind and body.
