Becoming Worthy – and Gently Healing PTSD
“He showed some people in the military ... and how they were getting healed.
And I was like, ‘Hey, if they can do it, I can do it, too.’”
Bradley joined the Army more than 20 years ago, right out of high school. After moving through the ranks and numerous deployments, he found himself living with post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD. Struggling with unworthiness and apathy, he sometimes couldn’t get out of bed. His family life suffered – and he was constantly angry.
When his daughter told him about Dr Joe’s work with veterans and PTSD, Bradley was skeptical. His doctors had told him there was no cure. He’d tried everything. So, he attended his first retreat thinking, “What’s the worst that could happen?” He set aside expectations – and stayed curious and open. And when he saw what was possible for others, he began to realize what was possible for him. For the first time in decades, he felt worthy to receive.
