After Years of Depression and Fibromyalgia, She’s Now Pain-Free

Michelle began experiencing unexplained pain when she was only 11 or 12 years old. As she grew older, she also struggled with depression and self-harm, experiencing periods when she didn't want to get out of bed. In 2019, she says the chronic pain was eventually identified as fibromyalgia.

When her husband suggested attending a Dr Joe Dispenza retreat, Michelle was skeptical. She didn't initially want to go and remembers wondering, “Who is this guy?” But she ultimately decided to attend with her husband.

At the retreat, Michelle was selected to receive Coherence Healing. A volunteer handed her a card that read, “It’s time to fall in love with life again.” After years of struggling with depression, the words took on a profound meaning for her.

Later, while doing a walking meditation at home, Michelle had another realization: “I can be a joyful person.” That possibility had never occurred to her before. From that moment forward, she began consciously practicing becoming that version of herself.

Michelle says her depression lifted. About a year later, when someone asked about her fibromyalgia, she realized she hadn't even been thinking about it because her body no longer hurt.

Five years later, Michelle remains depression-free and pain-free and can even run, something she says she could never do before.

As we recognize Suicide Prevention Month this September, Michelle’s story is a reminder of the possibility that can exist beyond our most difficult moments. Her transformation began with a simple idea she had never considered before: “I can be a joyful person.”
