Anger after meditation

I've been doing mostly the Water Rising Meditation for about 2 weeks now.  Yesterday for the first time I really felt like I got to a deeper state of consciousness and was able to sustain it through to the end which felt great.

The surprising part is that not too long after that I found myself being triggered by the tiniest things with great anger and almost rage.  Now my tendency all my life has been to suppress and push down my emotions, so I'm wondering if perhaps I'm just accessing feelings that now have permission to come out and be released?  Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this?

It is never a good idea to suppress your emotions for a long time. If you keep suppressing them they will eventually find a place in your body and become a disease. Meditation is helping you to bring them up for you. They are what is sitting in the way of your progress. Deal with them. Resolve them and be free of them. Good luck.
